Ashley was born in London, England, to Australian parents; he spent most of his childhood in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After moving to Colorado in 1989, Ashley attended Western State College in Gunnison, graduating with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Accounting. A one year stint on the NorAm/Europa Cup mogul circuit convinced him of the need to get a “real job” in 1993. In 2010 Ashley completed his Graduate Degree in Banking, at the Pacific Coast School of Banking at the University of Washington – Seattle.
Ashley is President of the Gunnison Bank and Trust Company, an organization he has worked for in excess of 17 years. He also serves as a Director for the Independent Bankers of Colorado, and is currently the Chairman of Colorado’s CollegeInvest, a 529 plan managing over 4 Billion in assets. He has served on the Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley board of directors since 2004, and also serves the valley in a variety of ad-hoc positions, committees, and volunteer roles.
A recovering Triathete, Ashley now spends his free time playing hockey, racing cars, running a private school with his wife, and chasing his kids.

I was born in Crawford, Colorado, which is just 65 miles west of Gunnison in Delta County. My younger years were spent in Sapinero, Colorado which is 26 miles west of Gunnison. The original Sapinero is now under about 300 feet of water, (Blue Mesa Lake).
I graduated from Gunnison High School in 1959 and attended college for about two years. I also spent a winter in Alaska.
I went to work for The Gunnison Bank and Trust Company in June of 1961. I have worked for the bank every since and have worked for six different bank presidents. I have seen banking in both the good times and the very tough times. I have worked in every position in the bank except bank president.
I enjoy fishing, hunting and working out in my yard. I spent 25 years as secretary of Cattlemen’s Days. I have been a member of Lions Club, Greeters of the Chamber of Commerce and have worked with the Gunnison Stock growers in the past.

I was born in Chicago, IL. My family moved to Winter Park, CO in 1963 and bought a small cafe next door to the motel my grandparents owned. We ran the Carlson Cafe until 1997. As a result, I had a terrific youth as a 'ski bunny', hitting the slopes every chance I had. In my late teens, I spent two winters teaching Blind Skiers for the Winter Park Handicapped Ski program. I attended Western State College, taking summers and winters off to return to Winter Park and work in the cafe and, of course, ski.
Settling down in Gunnison, I started my banking career as a teller in 1980, and in 1981 I became an Emergency Medical Technician. I served as a supervisor for the Gunnison Ambulance service for 18 years, nights and weekends, while working days as a banker. During that time I was blessed with two terrific children, now 16 and 20. I am currently Credit Administration Officer at The Gunnison Bank. Because of my experience and overwhelming knowledge of loan documentation and compliance, I have so graciously become known as the “loan goddess” to my co-workers.
I also serve on the Board of Directors of the Gunnison Valley Hospital and have been on the RE1J School Board for over two years. I love living in the mountains and feel very fortunate to be a part of this community. See you on the slopes!

I am one of the increasingly rare people who haven’t moved around much during my lifetime. I was born and raised in Denver, graduated from Western State College here in Gunnison, and vowed I would come back to Gunnison to live permanently at some point. My husband, who I met at college, felt the same way too. After a 20 year detour through Denver and Carbondale, Colorado, we moved back to Gunnison.
After college, I spent ten combined years in the accounting departments of an oil & gas company and a cheese manufacturer. The next 16 years were spent as a CPA specializing in income tax. Now, onto banking!
In my tenure at The Gunnison Bank, I have been impressed by the quality of service and the attention given to our customers. Of course, that is why we’re here!
I love hiking, skiing, biking and reading. My yellow lab keeps me company during these activities whenever he can. My husband and I spend quite a bit of time “roughing it” at our cabin just outside of town. There is no running water, no electricity, and no phone service there! 
When I’m in town and not at the bank, you can find me shopping (I love the stores here) engaged in various activities at my church, or out walking my lab. Isn’t it great to be in Gunnison?

I was born and raised (to play golf) in Sheboygan, Wisconsin… GO PACKERS!!!!! In 1995, I graduated from Sheboygan North High School and went on to Western State College. During my time at Western, I was the President of the Western State College Freestyle Ski Club, a graphic designer for Pathfinder Magazine and an advertising sales representative for The Top O’ the World newspaper. When I wasn’t cramming for an exam or writing a paper, I was skiing, mountain biking and rock climbing. In 1999, I graduated from Western State with a degree in Business Administration, an emphasis in Entrepreneurship and luckily, no broken bones. After graduating, I moved to Denver to pursue a career in Graphic Design. After 6 months of the “big city life”, I realized that I was a “small town boy” at heart, so I moved back to Gunnison.
After working as the art director for a local print shop for a short period of time, I started working at The Gunnison Bank and Trust Company as a management trainee in May of 2003. I have been working for the Bank ever since, enjoying every minute of it, thanks to my friendly and knowledgeable co-workers. After working as the Assistant Branch Manager in Crested Butte, I was promoted to Branch Manager of The Crested Butte Bank. My duties include lending, marketing, and having fun with our great staff. I am also a member of the IBC Career Banker Network and have just completed the Gunnison Valley Leadership Program.
Outside of the bank, I am enjoying life in my new home with my beautiful wife, Melinda and our three pets; Charlie the horse, Bear the dog and Juicy the cat. Melinda and I are looking forward to a long life in the Gunnison Valley enjoying all the wonderful things this community has to offer. See you out on the trails!

Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, I received my B.S. from the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After college I moved to Durango, CO,
but returned to St. Louis to teach math and science at a college
preparatory school. As a competitive cyclist and avid telemark skier, I
was naturally drawn to Crested Butte area. I have been with The Crested
Butte Bank since July of 2002. I particularly enjoy working on The
Crested Butte Bank XTERRA Points Series Race.
This is an annual off-road triathlon that benefits The Crested Butte Land
Trust and local children's charities.

I was born in Pontiac, Michigan and relocated to Colorado Springs when I was nine years old. In 1991 I married Eddie Ware, a Gunnison native, and moved to Gunnison in 1992. I graduated from Western State College in 1995 and found that Gunnison was too good to leave. I am thrilled to say that I have found a career I love and enables me to live in this wonderful community!
Eddie and I have three daughters and enjoy the wonderful opportunities that this community provides for us and our children. We enjoy many outdoor activities including golfing, skiing and home improvement projects!
I have been in the lending business since 1995 and have found that it keeps me challenged each day. I have enjoyed years of helping people to realize their dreams of owning a home or business in Gunnison County. I am excited to be a part of the Crested Butte Bank mortgage department which offers the experience and flexibility necessary to provide the highest level of customer service to each of our customers!
